Wi-fi

The appearance of wi-fi has become a next step of humanity to higher standards of living. Information technologies become more accessible day by day. All innovations, when they appear, provoke suspicions and rumours about their unhealthiness. The main reason why many people suspect wi-fi of being dangerous for one's health is electromagnetic radiation, which accompanies its work.
Although the level of electromagnetic radiation of wireless transmitters is below the official quota, talks about the dangerous impact of Wi-Fi on our health don't cease and these ideas gain more and more supporters, who stand for the limited use of wireless technologies. The main attention is usually paid to harm, which is caused by wi-fi to children's health.
Though there were no special researches held, which could prove or refute fears, many people are absolutely convinced in harmfulness of wireless technologies. Some scientists also stick to this point of view. They say that children are exposed to greater risks in comparison with grown-ups, because their brainpan is thin and their nervous system is in the process of formation.
The supporters of wi-fi safety refer to the researches, which have proved safety of mobile phones. They say that if mobile phones are safe despite the fact that they have higher level of electromagnetic radiation in comparison with wi-fi, then wi-fi is mush safer. Opponents of wi-fi in turn argue that mobile phones are used at intervals, while the use of wi-fi is almost permanent, because people usually spend much time at their computers and talk on the phone from time to time. That is why, though the level of electromagnetic radiation, produced by wireless technologies is less than that of mobile phones, it is much more dangerous.
In general, experts agree that electromagnetic waves certainly affect people's health, but each case is different and dangerous level is a relative concept. Each person has his/her own permissible level of radiation. Scientific community, which spreads panic among wi-fi users and parents with the help of journalists admits, that it is too early to begin to discuss harmful influence of electromagnetic radiation, the age of modern technological environment is too young to gather facts, which could prove or refute all fears.
